Warm & Cuddly: Heat pack therapy
Whether your child is complaining of a tummy ache, growing pains, sore muscles after sport training, or it’s a chilly night - there is nothing quite like a warm heat pack to create some soothing magic ✨
Let’s deep dive into the warm world of heat therapy!

What is heat therapy?
Heat therapy uses warmth to help ease discomfort in joints and muscles. We are confident you may have used it instinctually - warm baths, showers or warm first aid packs when your little love isn’t feeling their normal 100%.
How does it help?
🧡 Warmth increases blood flow, bringing more oxygen and nutrients to sore body areas
🧡 Warmth can assist muscles to loosen up, easing discomfort
🧡 Warmth can dull the pain signals racing to the brain
When can I use a warmed up heat pack?
💪🏻 Muscle aches and pains - Think sports at school or in the community, running around with friends or growing pains
😣 Stomach cramps - Mild stomach cramps or period cramps
🤱🏻 Breastfeeding mums - If you suspect you may have mastitis, placing a warm pack to the breast just prior to a feed can help milk flow *
🤒 Some kids will also just appreciate the distraction of using a warm pack when they are feeling under the weather - warmth and fun graphics = a match made in heaven for our little ones!
Safety considerations:
⚠️ Please always follow heat pack specific guidance regarding how to warm up and check the temperature before giving to a child
⚠️ It is best not to use warmth on an injury with swelling within the first 48 hours, cold therapy will help at this acute stage
⚠️ Do not use heat therapy on cuts, rashes or infections to the skin
*Remember* to always check in with a trusted ➕ health professional if your child’s pain persists, is severe or if you are concerned for any reason!
Stay warm, stay safe!
